B.Des Programme Structure

Duration

MIT Institute of Design offers a full-time, four-year Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programme with specialization options including Product Design, Communication Design, User Experience Design, Transportation Design, Interior Space Design, and Fashion Design.

The curriculum is delivered across eight semesters and is structured around an interdisciplinary integration of design practice, technology, and entrepreneurship.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 from any stream, awarded by a recognized board (State Boards, CBSE, ICSE, ISC, CIE, IB, NIOS, or an equivalent examination).
  • Valid score in any one of the following entrance examinations:
  • MIT-DAT 2024 / UCEED 2024 / NIFT 2024 / NATA 2024 / NID 2024
  • Valid score in MAH–B.Design CET for MIT AOE, Alandi.

Selection Process

  • Admissions are based strictly on merit, considering MIT-DAT / MAH–B.Design CET / UCEED 2024 / NIFT 2024 / NATA 2024 / NID 2024 scores, along with Personal Interaction (PI) and Portfolio Review, as per the schedule.
  • MIT-DAT is the common entrance examination for B.Des and M.Des admissions at MIT Institute of Design, Pune, Avantika University, Ujjain, and MIT University, Shillong, conducted across multiple centres in India.
  • Shortlisted candidates must complete a second-stage assessment, comprising studio tests and a personal interview at MIT ID campuses.
